OpenAI's three main investors collectively bet against, Anthropic raises 30 billion in financing, delivery this month
AIMPACT reports that Anthropic will complete a new round of financing of $30 billion, with a pre-money valuation of about $900 billion, within 5 months. The lead investors, Dragoneer, Greenoaks, Sequoia Capital, and Altimeter Capital, will each invest at least $2 billion; all three are major shareholders in OpenAI, indicating that the AI market will form a duopoly. The newly appointed CFO, Krishna Rao, will lead the negotiations. Google/Amazon are expected not to participate, and the remaining portion is still under discussion, with the terms possibly being adjusted. Source: FT
