Mars Financial News, according to a report by Jin Shi, the Financial Secretary of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, Paul Chan, said in an evening meeting with the media today (7th) that the US tariff hike is bullying and unreasonable and violates WTO regulations. He pointed out that Hong Kong’s financial system is quite stable, the stock market is trading smoothly, and there are no abnormal behaviors that have a systemic impact on the Hong Kong stock market. The HKSAR Government will work with various departments to adopt round-the-clock, joint and cross-market surveillance to strictly guard against financial risks. In addition, the HKSAR Government will continue to monitor market changes and continue to provide support to local SMEs. Chan Mo-po stressed that the Hong Kong SAR Government will maintain its status as a free port and implement a free trade policy in accordance with the Basic Law of Hong Kong, and Hong Kong’s determination to support free trade will never waver.
