Ethereum developers are considering upgrading the FOCIL proposal from the Glamsterdam upgrade to the Heka upgrade.

According to a report by Christine D. Kim on November 14, Deep Tide TechFlow news, Ethereum developers discussed the implementation plan for the Fork Choice Mandatory Inclusion List (FOCIL) during the 169th All-Core Developers Consensus Meeting. Developers are now more optimistic about credibly committing this proposal in the Heka upgrade rather than including it in the Glamsterdam upgrade.

During the meeting, the various client teams had differing opinions on the inclusion of FOCIL in Glamsterdam. The Lighthouse and Lodestar teams supported the inclusion, while the Grandine team opposed it, and the Prysm team remained neutral. Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin and Lodestar developer Matthew Keil supported the approach of making credible commitments for future forks.

In addition, the Fusaka upgrade will be activated on the Ethereum mainnet on December 3rd. Developers also discussed interoperability testing for embedded proposer-builder separation (ePBS), which is expected to be ready within a month.
