ChainCatcher reports that, according to market sources, Democratic senators in the U.S. Senate plan to reconvene this afternoon to discuss legislation related to the structure of the crypto market. This is the first key meeting held by minority party members supporting crypto policy since the Senate Banking Committee postponed the review of the “Clear Act” last month, aiming to coordinate positions on core issues such as ethics and DeFi.

Before this meeting, Democratic lawmakers and their teams had multiple consultations with representatives from the crypto industry in the weeks following the delay of the bill’s review. It is currently unclear whether stablecoin yields will be included in the agenda, a contentious issue that was a key point of dispute causing the review to stall unexpectedly. Reports indicate that representatives from the crypto industry and the banking sector held a “constructive” discussion on this matter at the White House on February 3. Patrick Witt, Executive Director of the White House Crypto Committee, described the meeting as “fact-based and solution-oriented,” expressing confidence in resolving the disagreements. According to attendees, Witt urged all parties to reach an agreement by the end of this month. The White House and the Senate Banking Committee previously stated that they would not set a new review date until the outstanding issues are resolved.
