Cardano Foundation launches Rosetta Java v2.0.0 upgrade, improving exchange integration, speeding syncing, strengthening security, and supporting future blockchain scaling plans.

The Cardano Foundation has released Rosetta Java v2.0.0, a major backend infrastructure upgrade for the Cardano network. The update improves how exchanges and wallets connect with Cardano. Moreover, it has faster syncing and improved reliability. As a result, network services are able to recover faster after downtime.

Cardano Upgrade Brings Faster Syncing and Better Reliability

Rosetta Java v2.0.0 is live and available for developers and operators. The release is focused on standardizing data access to blockchain data via the Rosetta API. Therefore, exchanges are able to integrate Cardano without having to do any custom coding. This helps to reduce the complexity and also improves the consistency.

One significant improvement is the time of synchronization. Previously, the syncing process took about 52 hours. Now, syncing is completed in approximately 37 hours. As a result, this is almost 30% faster performance. The faster syncing means that there will be less downtime for exchanges and services.

This speed improvement is important in the onboarding and recovery. With Cardon support, faster syncing saves time when the exchange adds Cardon support. Similarly, when systems are rebooted from the beginning, there will be a smoother recovery process. As a result, user access is enhanced across platforms.

The upgrade also brings in a cleaner and more modular system. A unified database schema is used in place of network-specific designs. Therefore, it becomes easier to build and manage future updates. This supports Cardan’s long-term scalability goals.

Several of the core components were updated in this release. Cardon Node now runs version 10.5.x This version includes Ouroboros Genesis for better security. Meanwhile, Mithril was updated to version 2543.1 – hotfix.

Database performance was also greatly improved. Upgrading of PostgreSQL from version 14 to version 18; Consequently, the data processing becomes faster and more stable. These changes are taken to ensure the regular handling of blockchain data.

Developers Must Adjust Systems After Rosetta Java Changes

While the benefits are clear, there are certain things that developers need to do. The upgrade has breaking changes; it requires a complete resync from genesis. Although this may be a difficult thing to do at first, it helps to ensure clean and accurate data.

The Cardano Foundation emphasized that resyncing is good for long-term consistency. Therefore, an investment in short-term effort provides for stability in the future. Developers are encouraged to carefully follow up-to-date documentation.

The release also deletes the legacy single Docker container. Operators are now required to use Docker Compose or Kubernetes with Helm charts. This change provides a greater degree of flexibility and control. As a result, setups of infrastructure become more scalable.

Documentation updates will accompany the release. These guides reflect schema changes and new methods of deployment. For this reason, developers can make the transition more smoothly with proper preparation.

Rosetta Java v2.0.0 is compatible with Cardano’s more general growth strategy. Faster syncing, better security, and modular design prepare the network for future features. Therefore, Cardano fortifies itself for institutional adoption.

In one way or another, the upgrade adds to the reliability for exchanges and wallets. It also mitigates operational risks at the time of outages. As a result, Cardano’s ecosystem is more stable and developer-friendly.
