X updates API policy to combat the flood of AI-generated comments

BlockBeats News, February 24 — The X platform updated its API policy to reduce excessive spam generated by artificial intelligence. The X API now restricts programmatic replies via POST /2/tweets. Users can only reply when the original author @ mentions or quotes the post; non-reply tweets will remain unchanged.
This restriction applies to the free, basic, professional, and pay-per-use plans. Enterprise and public service plans are unaffected.
