Gate News: On March 9, Russian Presidential Aide Ushakov stated that on March 9 local time, Russian President Putin and U.S. President Trump held a phone call. The call was proposed by the U.S. side, lasted about an hour, and involved a pragmatic, honest, and constructive exchange.

The conversation focused on three main topics: the Middle East situation related to Iran, the Ukraine peace negotiations, and the situation in Venezuela. Regarding Iran, both sides engaged in specific and beneficial discussions, with Putin calling for a quick return to political and diplomatic means to resolve the conflict. On Ukraine, Putin said that Russian armed forces are making steady progress in the special military operation, which should encourage Ukraine to accelerate the peace process; Trump reiterated his hope for a quick ceasefire and expressed the U.S. intention to participate long-term in mediating the Ukraine issue.
