Claude Code connects to iMessage, supporting control of local programming agents through Apple devices.

Gate News reports that on March 26, Anthropic Claude Code team member Thariq Shihipar announced that iMessage has been launched as a communication channel for Claude Code. Users can install the plugin on Mac and send commands to the locally running Claude Code session via iPhone or other Apple devices. Claude will execute the commands locally and return the results through iMessage. This feature works by reading the macOS Messages database and integrating AppleScript, without relying on external services. Currently, this feature is in research preview and requires Claude Code version 2.1.80 or above.
