Syria's Transitional Government Takes Control of All U.S. Military Bases Following Coalition Withdrawal

Gate News message, April 16 — Syria’s transitional government has taken control of all U.S. military bases in the country following the withdrawal of American and coalition forces, according to statements from the government’s Defense Ministry and Foreign Ministry on April 16.

The Defense Ministry confirmed the takeover of Khasaka military base in Hasaka province, joining previously secured bases at Shaddadi, Rumailan (both in Hasaka), and Tanf (in southern Syria). The Foreign Ministry welcomed the transfer of all U.S. military installations to transitional government control.
