Tanzanian Police Question Asymmetric Founder Joe McCann Over Fiancée's Death

Gate News message, April 17 — Tanzanian authorities in Zanzibar are questioning Asymmetric Fund founder Joe McCann regarding the death of his fiancée Ashly Robinson, who died on April 9 at a hospital. Police have detained his passport pending autopsy results. Robinson was found unresponsive by hotel staff before being hospitalized.

Police initially classified the case as suicide, but Robinson’s family has disputed this determination. According to hotel staff, the couple had argued prior to the incident and were subsequently assigned separate rooms.
