According to a report by Forbes on November 28, Deep Tide TechFlow news indicates that Bitfury Group, a leading global crypto mining company, recently completed a strategic investment of $12 million in the decentralized AI computing network Gonka.ai, purchasing 20 million GNK Tokens at a price of $0.6 each. Gonka.ai was founded by serial entrepreneurs the Liberman brothers, aiming to build a blockchain-based distributed GPU computing power market. This investment is Bitfury's first public investment following the establishment of its $1 billion ethical AI fund, indicating that traditional mining companies are systematically laying out their infrastructure in the decentralized AI space.
According to public data, Gonka has surpassed 5,000 equivalent Computing Power of NVIDIA H100 series GPUs across the network, while supporting nearly 20 mainstream AI devices such as 3080, 4090, H100, and H200, forming a distributed Computing Power cluster, which is expected to break the monopoly of NVIDIA and cloud service providers, significantly reducing AI development costs. According to previous reports, Gonka completed a $18 million financing in 2023, with investors including OpenAI investor Coatue Management, Solana investor Slow Ventures, K5, and several partners from Insight and Benchmark. Early builders also include well-known industry institutions such as 6 Block, Hard Yaka, Gcore, and Hyperfusion.
