Golden Finance reported that U.S. President Donald Trump recently entered the memecoins market, driving Google search interest in the term “crypto” to its highest level since 2021. On January 18, Trump launched an official memecoins project just days before his inauguration. Following the release of the official Trump (TRUMP) Token, First Lady Melania Trump also introduced a self-named memecoins called Melania Memes (MELANIA). These two encryption assets performed well upon release, but ultimately both experienced a sharp decline.
Google Trends data shows a surge in search interest for the term ‘crypto’ after Trump released memecoins. The term reached its peak since November 2021, when Bitcoin (BTC) hit a historic high of over $67,000.
