According to Reuters, 110 Iranian couples held a mass wedding ceremony at Imam Hussain Square in Tehran on May 18, pledging to sacrifice their lives in potential conflict with the United States and Israel. The couples, registered under the government's Janfada (self-sacrifice) campaign, arrived in military vehicles decorated with flowers and balloons, with machine guns mounted on nearby military jeeps. A large portrait of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei and missiles were displayed on stage. According to Iran's semi-official Mehr News, over 500 couples have registered nationwide for the campaign, which began on March 29 and has enrolled more than 31 million Iranians—over 30% of Iran's 90 million population.
