Africa's Blockchain Deals Hit Record 28 Transactions in 2025, Yet Funding Falls 26.6% Year-over-Year

According to the Africa Blockchain Report published by CV VC in 2025, Africa completed 28 blockchain funding transactions, only two fewer than the previous year, despite funding declining 26.6% year-over-year. The continent accounted for its highest-ever share of global blockchain deal activity but attracted less than 1% of worldwide blockchain funding, highlighting a disconnect between deal volume and capital deployment.

Kredete, a remittance-based credit platform founded by Nigerian entrepreneur Adeola Adedewe, raised $22 million in Series A funding to become the largest disclosed blockchain financing round in Africa during 2025, yet would rank as modest compared to similar investments in North America, Europe or Asia.
