AMD announced a strategic partnership with Anthropic on Wednesday, committing up to $5 billion in equity investment and planning to deploy up to 2 gigawatts of AI compute powered by AMD's next-generation Helios rack-scale systems, with the first gigawatt expected to roll out in the first half of 2027. The companies will also collaborate on software engineering, with Anthropic's Claude models being integrated into AMD's development workflows to accelerate software optimization.
