According to Ali Haider, Anthropic is discussing permanently retaining Claude Fable 5 in its paid subscription tier. The company is concerned that removing the model could trigger user cancellations and faces competitive pressure from GPT-5.6 Sol and Grok 4.5. Anthropic extended Fable 5's subscription access period to July 19, with Claude Code's 50% weekly usage boost continuing in parallel. The company previously committed to restoring Fable 5 as a standard subscription feature once compute capacity allows.
