According to Cryptobriefing, Anthropic released Claude Opus 5 on Friday, July 25, positioning it as an advanced model for programming, AI agents, and professional knowledge work. The model is priced at $5 per million input tokens and $25 per million output tokens, matching Opus 4.8. Opus 5 delivers performance comparable to Claude Fable 5 at half the price and shows over 2x performance improvement compared to Opus 4.8 on Frontier Bench v0.1, with performance gaps within 0.5% of Fable 5 on CursorBench 3.2. The model is now the default for Claude Max subscribers and available on Anthropic's platform and Claude API.
