According to Archer Aviation CEO Adam Goldstein on Monday at the Farnborough Air Show in the U.K., the company reaffirmed its goal to certify air taxis and begin operations by the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. "It's always been an ambitious goal," Goldstein told CNBC. "It's still an ambitious goal, but we're certainly going to try our hardest to get there."
Archer also unveiled the Thunder autonomous vertical takeoff and landing defense aircraft developed jointly with Anduril, designed to accompany crewed aircraft and helicopters. The partnership, which began in 2024, reflects Archer's expansion into defense applications. Shares of Archer rallied more than 12% following the announcement.
