Armenian PM Pashinyan Reaffirms Commitment to Eurasian Economic Union on June 1

According to Jin10, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced on June 1 that Armenia will continue working within the Eurasian Economic Union "peacefully and calmly." His statement came after Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, and Kyrgyzstan issued a joint call on May 29 for Armenia to hold a referendum on choosing between joining the European Union or remaining in the bloc. Pashinyan countered that holding such a referendum before Armenia formally applies for EU membership or approaches candidate status would be illogical and unfounded.
