Baltic Dry Index Falls 49 Points to 3005 on May 20 Amid Broad Shipping Rate Weakness

According to Guru Club, the Baltic Dry Index (BDI) fell 49 points, or 1.6%, to 3005 on May 20 today, dragged down by declines across all major vessel segments. The Capesize Index (BCI) declined 69 points, or 1.4%, to 4880 points, while the Panamax Index (BPI) dropped 85 points, or 3.5%, to 2374 points. The Supramax Index (BSI) edged down 2 points, or 0.1%, to 1566 points.
