Binance Withdraws Greece MiCA License Application Last Week Amid External Political Factors

According to ChainCatcher, Binance founder CZ said the exchange's MiCA license application in Greece was withdrawn last week due to external political factors after coming close to approval. CZ stated the application had met all regulatory requirements and was approaching final approval before the withdrawal. The European Union's MiCA transition period ends on July 1, after which platforms without licenses must halt relevant services. CZ said regulatory authorities across member states confirmed no extension will be granted. Binance will pursue MiCA authorization in other EU member states.
