Blackstone and Apollo Arrange $36 Billion Debt Financing for Anthropic's AI Chip Infrastructure Today

According to ChainCatcher, Apollo Global Management and Blackstone are arranging approximately $36 billion in debt financing for Anthropic today (May 29) to purchase Google's custom TPU (Tensor Processing Unit) chips, which Anthropic will subsequently lease.

Broadcom, which assisted Google in developing the chips, will provide guarantees for the majority of the transaction amount. The financing arrangement leverages Broadcom's credit standing to supply Anthropic with computing capacity for its AI infrastructure.
