According to France Télévisions, a British-operated cruise ship arrived in Bordeaux on the evening of May 12 with a suspected gastroenteritis outbreak onboard. Approximately 1,700 passengers and crew members have been confined to the vessel and restricted from disembarking.

One passenger, approximately 90 years old, is suspected to have died during the voyage from a gastrointestinal illness, with an additional 50 people displaying digestive tract infection symptoms.
