According to Beating, Bytedance recently reorganized its Seed Robotics team, with multimodal technology lead Zhou Chang now overseeing the group previously managed by Li Hang. The shift consolidates robotics research resources and integrates multimodal interaction, world models, and embodied AI capabilities.
Bytedance is recruiting a robotics technology director at L8 level (equivalent to Alibaba P10-P11) from leading embodied AI startups. Li Hang has transitioned to advisory roles under academic partnership lead Jin Xiaowei. The moves align with Bytedance's strategy to use robots as physical-world interfaces for large language models, while OpenAI announced on June 1 that its robotics team is also hiring full-stack hardware, operations, systems, and machine learning engineers.
