Central Banks Plan to Reduce Dollar Reserves for First Time in Three Years

According to a report by the Official Monetary and Financial Institutions Forum (OMFIF), central banks are planning to reduce dollar reserves for the first time in three years. Public pension funds and sovereign wealth funds share the same "dedollarization" view. Both groups see the euro and the Chinese yuan as attractive alternatives to the dollar, with developed economies favoring the former and emerging markets focusing on the latter, OMFIF researchers wrote in the report.
