China Expands Occupational Injury Protection for Gig Workers to More Regions and Platforms

GateNews
China's State Council recently issued implementation guidelines to expand occupational injury insurance coverage for gig and platform workers across more regions and enterprises. The policy aims to eliminate household registration restrictions for workers enrolling in employee social insurance at their place of employment and improve social security systems for migrant workers, flexible workers, and new-form workers. The council also plans to advance social insurance enrollment across all demographics and enhance portability of social security accounts.
