China Issues Geohazard Warning for 10+ Regions on May 23, Orange Alert for Hubei and Hunan

The Ministry of Natural Resources and China Meteorological Administration jointly issued a geohazard meteorological risk warning at 6 p.m. on May 23 for the period from 8 p.m. on May 23 to 8 p.m. on May 24. Orange-level alerts (highest risk) were issued for parts of southwestern Hubei and northwestern Hunan, while yellow-level alerts cover portions of eastern Sichuan, western and southern Chongqing, northeastern Guizhou, southern Yunnan, southeastern Tibet, northwestern Shaanxi, eastern Gansu, and southern Ningxia.

Residents in orange alert zones, particularly those near high-risk sites, are urged to evacuate immediately to nearby shelters. Those in yellow alert zones should monitor warnings continuously and avoid prolonged exposure in ravines, slopes, cliffs, and waterside areas.
