According to Jin10, on July 6, China's Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning called on the United States to immediately halt its blockade and coercive measures against Cuba during a regular press briefing. The statement came after Cuba's President Miguel Diaz-Canel warned that the U.S. embargo has reached a "critical level" and requested the UN General Assembly to convene a special session on July 7. Mao Ning stated that China has consistently opposed unilateral sanctions without international legal basis and supports Cuba in safeguarding its national sovereignty against external interference.
