China's Active Business Entities Rise 20.2% in H1 2026, Tech Sector Leads Growth

According to the State Tax Administration, China's active business entities grew 20.2% year-over-year in the first half of 2026, with tax-filing households increasing 10% YoY. High-tech industries and digital economy core sectors reported sales revenue growth of 15% and 8.7% respectively, while high-tech manufacturing and digital product services saw profit growth of 29.2% and 64.4% YoY. Foreign-invested enterprises also expanded, with foreign-funded business entities rising 10.9%, declared profits increasing 4.5%, and export tax rebates climbing 7.7% YoY, reflecting sustained strength in foreign investment and trade.
