China's Coastal Coal Freight Rate Index Falls 3.2% to 1207.64 Points on May 12

GateNews

According to Jin10 Futures, China’s Coastal Bulk Freight Index (CBCFI) fell to 1207.64 points on May 12, down 3.2%. The decline was driven by reduced cargo availability in the shipping market, as downstream terminals showed limited acceptance of coal despite strong summer electricity demand expectations and elevated coal prices. Most transportation demand was met through long-term contracts rather than spot market activity.
