China's Commerce Minister Wang Meets UN Trade Conference Acting Secretary-General on May 23

On May 23 in Suzhou, China's Commerce Minister Wang Wentao met with the Acting Secretary-General of the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) Mareno, who was in China to participate in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Trade Ministers' Meeting. Both sides exchanged views on global economic and trade situations and deepening practical cooperation. Wang welcomed UNCTAD's continued support for China's hosting of this year's APEC meeting and next year's BRICS-related conferences, participation in the "Export China" series of activities, and support for the Global Development Institute. Mareno said UNCTAD will deepen bilateral cooperation in key areas, maintain commitment to multilateralism, support the development of the Global South, and accelerate the implementation of the UN's 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda.
