According to CCTV News, China’s Cyberspace Administration launched a nationwide four-month campaign on April 30 to address AI application chaos. The initiative, deployed across two phases, targets issues including missing model registrations, inadequate platform safety and review capabilities, unlawful training data, AI data poisoning, insufficient synthetic content labeling, and misuse of AI for network attacks and deepfakes. The second phase will focus on AI-generated misinformation, impersonation of public figures, deepfake resurrection of deceased individuals, production of violent and obscene content targeting minors, AI-powered astroturfing operations, and provision of illegal services including adult chatbots and counterfeit AI applications.
