According to Jin10 Data, citing major Chinese carriers including Air China, China Southern Airlines, and Xiamen Airlines, China’s domestic flight fuel surcharge will increase starting May 16. Flights over 800 kilometers will now incur a 170-yuan surcharge per segment, while shorter routes will be charged 90 yuan. Infants are exempt from the surcharge, while children and passengers in other designated categories receive a 50-percent reduction. Tickets purchased before May 16 that undergo changes after the effective date will not be subject to the new pricing.
