Domestic Flight Bookings Surge 84% Ahead of Fuel Surcharge Hike on May 16

According to Qunartravel data, domestic flight bookings for the Dragon Boat Festival (June 19–21) surged 84% on May 12 ahead of a fuel surcharge increase set for May 16. Summer-period bookings (July–August) rose 58% day-over-day and 45% year-over-year, as travelers front-load purchases ahead of the rate adjustment.
