China's First Shale Oil Demonstration Zone in Continental Rift Basin Completed; Daily Output Rises to 2,400 Tons

According to China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation, today on July 24, the nation's first state-level shale oil demonstration zone in a continental rift basin -- the Shengli Jiyang Shale Oil Demonstration Zone -- was officially completed. Located in Shandong Province with a total area of 7,300 square kilometers, the zone achieved major exploration breakthroughs in 2021. The Shengli Oilfield has significantly increased production capacity in recent years, with daily oil output rising from an initial 100 tons to over 2,400 tons, marking a major advancement in development efficiency.
