China's Foreign Investment Inflows Hit 287.69 Billion Yuan in Jan-Apr, Down 10.3% YoY; High-Tech Up 20.3%

According to the Ministry of Commerce, China's actual foreign investment reached 287.69 billion yuan during January-April 2026, declining 10.3% year-on-year, with 20,113 new foreign-invested enterprises established (up 6.8%). High-tech industries attracted 116.33 billion yuan, up 20.3%, accounting for 40.4% of total foreign investment. Key growth drivers included R&D and design services (up 108.4%), computer and office equipment manufacturing (up 22.9%), and electronic and communication equipment manufacturing (up 20.2%).
