China's Foreign Ministry Calls on Japan to Sever Ties with Militarism, Reflect on Historical Accountability on May 19

According to Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun, on May 19, Japan should deeply reflect on its historical responsibilities and take concrete actions to completely break with militarism and pursue a genuine path of peace. Guo’s remarks came during a regular press briefing in response to Japan’s attempts to deny or overturn historical verdicts. He stressed that distorting history and concealing crimes cannot earn tolerance and trust.
