According to Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun, on May 19, Japan should deeply reflect on its historical responsibilities and take concrete actions to completely break with militarism and pursue a genuine path of peace. Guo’s remarks came during a regular press briefing in response to Japan’s attempts to deny or overturn historical verdicts. He stressed that distorting history and concealing crimes cannot earn tolerance and trust.
