According to Gelonghui, China’s National Energy Administration, National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and National Data Administration released an action plan on May 8 to promote artificial intelligence and energy synergy. The plan includes measures to increase renewable energy consumption in data center facilities by incorporating green electricity usage as a key planning indicator and supporting participation in green certificate trading. The agencies also aim to accelerate the transition of backup power systems in data centers from traditional fuel-based generators to clean energy alternatives.
