China's Ministry of Commerce Issues Blocking Order Against US Sanctions on 5 Chinese Enterprises Over Iran Oil Dealings on May 2

According to the Ministry of Commerce, China issued a blocking order on May 2 against U.S. sanctions targeting five Chinese enterprises for participation in Iranian oil transactions. The enterprises are Hengli Petrochemical (Dalian) Refining and Chemical Co., Ltd., Shandong Shouguang Luqing Petrochemical Co., Ltd., Shandong Jingcheng Petrochemical Group Co., Ltd., Hebei Xinhai Chemical Group Co., Ltd., and Shandong Shengxing Chemical Co., Ltd. The order prohibits recognition, enforcement, or compliance with U.S. measures imposing asset freezes and trade bans under Executive Orders 13902 and 13846. The blocking order takes effect immediately upon publication.
