Chinese Air Conditioners Sell Out in Europe as Midea Doubles PortaSplit Shipments to 200K Units

According to Midea, Chinese air conditioner exports saw surging demand with several models selling out across Europe by June 29. The company's PortaSplit portable air conditioning unit has become sold out in Germany, UK, France, and the Netherlands, with cumulative shipments exceeding 200,000 units this year—double the previous year's total. To meet demand, Midea has ramped up factory production and adopted China-Europe freight trains for delivery, cutting shipping time to 15–25 days compared to roughly 50 days by sea. Gree also reported its European channels fully sold out, with overseas distributors accelerating restocking efforts to meet local cooling demand.
