Chinese, U.S. Foreign Ministers Plan to Attend ASEAN Meetings in Manila on July 20

According to Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian on July 20, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio both plan to attend ASEAN ministerial meetings in Manila. Rubio previously indicated willingness to meet with Wang during the gathering.

When asked whether the two sides have confirmed a bilateral meeting arrangement, Lin stated that details would be released in due course. The ministry offered no confirmation of a formal meeting scheduled at this time.
