Cloudflare: AI Agents Drive Non-Human Traffic, x402 Offers Solution

Cloudflare’s Chief Strategy Officer stated that more than half of internet traffic is now non-human, highlighting a significant shift in web usage patterns driven by AI agents and automated systems. The executive suggested that the x402 Foundation is building infrastructure to address challenges posed by this trend, positioning the foundation as a key player in enabling what the company describes as a “golden age of content.”

Non-Human Traffic Surge

According to Cloudflare’s Chief Strategy Officer, non-human traffic now represents more than 50% of total internet traffic. This reflects the growing prevalence of AI agents, bots, and automated systems operating across the web.

x402 Foundation’s Role

Cloudflare indicated that the x402 Foundation is building the foundational infrastructure—referred to as “rails”—to support sustainable web economics in an environment dominated by non-human traffic. The foundation’s work is framed as enabling a “golden age of content,” suggesting a focus on creating systems that can manage the economic implications of AI agent activity.
