CME Copper Futures See Dual Gains on May 8 as WTI Crude Oil Declines

According to CME data, on May 8, copper futures trading volume increased by 22,574 contracts to 72,397 while open interest rose by 6,178 to 242,943, marking concurrent gains in both metrics. Meanwhile, WTI crude oil futures posted declines with trading volume falling by 539,490 contracts to 939,928 and open interest dropping by 9,526 to 2,074,330. Gold and silver futures saw trading volume decrease while open interest expanded slightly, while natural gas futures recorded lower trading activity with open interest largely unchanged.
