CME Launches Treasury Link to Simplify U.S. Treasury Basis Trades on July 9

CME-1.37%

According to CME Group, the world's largest derivatives exchange introduced Treasury Link on July 9, enabling traders to simultaneously buy U.S. Treasury securities and sell corresponding futures contracts in a single electronic transaction. Previously, this required multiple steps.

The new feature eliminates price fluctuation risks between separate trades and reduces brokerage intermediation, potentially lowering costs and expanding market access to a wider investor base.
