CME's 24/7 Gold Contract Records $60 Million in Trades During Inaugural Weekend

According to CME Group, 15,000 one-ounce futures contracts were traded during the inaugural weekend of its 24/7 gold futures contract, representing approximately $60 million in notional value. The contract, launched in January 2025 and designed specifically for retail traders, averaged 87,000 contracts daily during the first half of 2026. CME reported a record $125 billion in average daily notional value across its gold futures contracts so far this year.
