Cruise Ship 'Hondiurus' Docks in Canary Islands; Spain Begins Evacuation of Hantavirus-Exposed Passengers on May 10

According to Gold Ten Data, Spain's health authorities boarded the cruise ship 'Hondiurus' off Tenerife in the Canary Islands on the morning of May 10 to conduct epidemiological investigations and health assessments. Detailed evacuation and transfer plans have been approved and are now being implemented. After most passengers and crew are evacuated, only 17 Philippine crew members will remain on board to sail the Dutch-flagged vessel to the Netherlands. Following the completion of evacuations, the ship will depart the Canary Islands and proceed to Rotterdam for deep disinfection.
