Crypto Creator Carl Runefelt's YouTube Views Collapse to 2018 Lows Despite 7 Years of Growth

According to a BeInCrypto interview, crypto YouTube creator Carl Runefelt reported a dramatic viewership collapse in early 2026, with current video views dropping below levels he recorded during the 2018 bear market despite accumulating 650,000 subscribers over seven years. During the 2021 bull market peak, his videos averaged 100,000 to 200,000 views per upload, but by early 2026 that had fallen to roughly 15,000-20,000 views, marking what Runefelt described as a structural decline rather than a typical bear market dip. Runefelt attributed part of the collapse to YouTube's April 2026 purge of crypto channels, which wiped out approximately 35 million combined subscribers across affected creators including Bitcoin.com's flagship channel.
