DOJ Charges 3 Men in $6.5 Million California Crypto Kidnapping Spree

According to the Department of Justice, three men—Elijah Armstrong, Nino Chindavanh, and Jayden Rucker—were indicted on charges of conspiracy to commit robbery and kidnapping targeting cryptocurrency holders across San Francisco, San Jose, Sunnyvale, and Los Angeles. The defendants allegedly posed as delivery workers to gain access to victims’ homes, then used firearms, duct tape, and zip ties to force victims to surrender approximately $6.5 million in digital assets. If convicted, each defendant faces up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine per conspiracy count, or potentially life imprisonment for kidnapping charges.
