Doosan Enerbility Beats Q2 Consensus with 314.3B Won Profit, 4.3T Won in New Orders

According to Shinhan Investment & Securities analyst Han Seung-hun on July 28, Doosan Enerbility (034020) reported operating profit of 314.3 billion won in the second quarter, up 34.6% quarter-on-quarter and exceeding market consensus of 262.9 billion won. The company secured 4.3 trillion won in new orders, a 55.7% increase from the prior quarter, driven by domestic and overseas gas turbine and combined-cycle power projects.

Shinhan forecasts major tailwinds ahead as Doosan pursues U.S. investment and Vietnam's large-scale nuclear projects in the second half. The analyst expects AP1000 (U.S. large reactor model) long-lead equipment orders to materialize by year-end, backed by the U.S. Department of Energy's $17.5 billion loan facility, alongside potential orders from global small modular reactor (SMR) partners including Rolls-Royce, X-energy, and NuScale Power.
