Hotel Shilla's Q2 Operating Profit Surges 520% as Duty-Free Shops Return to Profitability

According to Yonhap Infomax, Hotel Shilla's Q2 operating profit is projected to reach 54 billion won, surging 520.69% year-over-year, driven by its duty-free division returning to profitability and solid earnings from its hotel and leisure operations. Revenue is expected to reach 993.7 billion won in the second quarter, down 3.08% from the same period last year. Analysts attribute the profit improvement to increased foreign visitors to South Korea, rising average hotel room rates in Seoul, and improved cost efficiency following the company's withdrawal from Incheon Airport's DF1 area last September.
